I decided it would be fun to start my own kind of tag. My tag is to tell your engagement story. Here is mine.
I knew Michael was in Rexburg to propose because we had had our ring designed a few weeks previously and it was now done. So when Michael came to town that day I just knew he was going to propose. Michael had been living in Logan while I finished up school at BYU-Idaho. He would come to Rexburg every weekend and would sometimes bring his mission buddies Gailey and Kunz. It was convenient that one of their best friends, Stucki who was also one of the chosen mission friends, lived in Rexburg and always let them stay at his place. These boys to this day get together at least every three months to hang out, they just love each other.
Okay back to the story. There was snow on the ground since it was February 20, 2002. Michael had been hanging out with his boys while I was in class. When I finished he came and picked me up to go on a drive. The whole time he was holding my hand and trying to bite my nails. I say because he was nervous to propose, he says because he was nervous to find a cool spot to ask me.
The best spot in Rexburg would have to be the gardens on campus. It is a gorgeous place when there isn't tons of snow. Michael refused to propose there because he said he was sure that's where all of the BYU-Idaho people propose. So we drove and drove until we came to a park over by the fairgrounds that had a frozen pond with lots of ducks. We tromped through the snow to get to a bench. He then gave me a dozen roses and busted out the ring and asked me the big question. I of course said YES! He then grabbed his cell phone and said, "here call your Mom." That part always makes me laugh.
When it finally got too cold went back to my apartment to show my roommates the ring and then I went to Taco Bell with Michael and his buddies. He still gets mad at me because we had just gotten engaged and I sat by Gailey instead of him while we ate. Our story isn't over the top but I love it because it is our own unique story.
I tag Lea, Tricia, Jenn, Melinda, Kim, Nancy, Ashlee, Andrea, Megan, Jen, Haley, Carrie, Chelsee, Koriann, Bekah, Krystina, and everyone else who's on my blog! I hope you really do it because I want to know your stories. Also, I think it would be fun to see a picture of your wedding ring!

What a fun engagement story! I didn't know that about you two. That's funny about the gardens at BYU-I. I'm glad he chose somewhere else - somewhere that's unique to just you two, and not to everyone else on campus, too. Love the story!
Dang, I've successfully ignored SO MANY tags 'cause I'm so busy that I barely have time to document the everyday happenings, let alone the special memories... but this one I just might do. I have a funny story, too! It might take up too much posting space... I'll have to get to it after this crazy next 2 weeks is over with... But your story is too fun! And I think sucking on fingers is supposed to turn people on... :)
great story Cordie! You two are such a beautiful couple!!! I love all the tag things you got goin on. It is fun to learn new things about people isn't it! and thanks for the comment on my blog. you are so sweet. Also tell your parents hi for me... I just saw a picture the other day and your mom was in it.
Cordie, Chris doesn't talk to Bo a lot, but he has his phone number and we were just at their baby's blessing a couple months ago.
