Shots x's 2

Yesterday, both of my kids had a well-check appointment and both received shots.  Ian was so excited to go to the Doctor because he remembered last time being a fun experience.  Ian's last experience consisted of one shot,  no crying, and a cool band-aide.  I have never seen kids so perfect at the Doctor and we were there for 2 1/2 hours.  Ian answered all the questions they asked him, had a quick eye test and was so adorable telling them what shapes were on the chart.  Olivia was cooperative as well.  My favorite part was when they had me put these cute little hospital gowns on them.  (Olivia's typical pose as she says "cheese" also taken with my cell, that is why it is bad quality)
Fast forward to the very end when the water works started. Ian had four shots and only one lady giving them to him, and very slowly I might add, (our previous Pediatrician had a nurse on each side giving shots at lightening speed). I felt so bad for him. After Ian's turn came Olivia's. Olivia had three shots and her little face was so sad as she looked up at me right before the shots came and then her crying on top of Ian's almost made me cry. After the shots, I carried them to the car and promised a happy meal from "Hot Donalds" as Ian calls it since he learned it from the Kunz girls. They were both so happy eating chicken nuggets and apple dippers it just made my day. The rest of the day went very well and without any medicine. Here are a few pictures of them this morning feeling a little soreness of the legs. They are just too adorable cuddling like that. Oh, how they melt me!!

aw man. that would be so hard to watch little olivia, look at you and let them do it. It is always hard but I think that would be the hardest rather than helping the nurse hold them down. how did you find a ped? I need to find one...
how are you guys doin?

OH, I hate shots too. Like you, I was alone when I took my girls to get their shots. It is NOT fun! But they are soooo cute in those gowns. Since when do they have to wear them? I love the cuddling pics. They are so cute, you can tell how much they love each other. Ian will always be a great big brother.

Oh shots...not fun. I hate it when your child gives you that look of "why are you letting this lady hurt me", I know it broke my heart when Katelyn did that. I love that your kids snuggle together, they are just adrobale. Got to love those Happy Meals, they cure all!

Aaww, just look at those little faces! I hate shots, and wish there was a less painful way of doing them. I know it is painful for the kids, but if they knew their Mommies were hurting right alongside them, they just might feel better, huh? Glad they're done for at least a few more months...

I love those precious angels so much. The pictures tell it all. I wish I could of been there for moral support and to take the shots for them if I could. Thanks for calling and telling me about your experience. Love you.

Ian with a car and Livs with her dollie. So precious. You have to love "hot donalds!" They have other kids calling it that too. Why did they put the kids in gowns?

Shots are never fun. I agree with the having 2 nurses do it...just get it over with before everyone is in tears (including moms)! Very cute pics!
