It is Michael's SPRING BREAK, and we are lucky to have his parents here until Saturday. Here is a long post of the things we have been doing.

Olivia striking a pose at a shopping center called Kerrytown.

Michael showed his parents the Law school and then we went to lunch at Zingerman's where a sandwich is about $15 because the meats and cheeses are imported from Europe. It really is a unique restaurant in Ann Arbor.

The beautiful Kirtland Temple!

As most of you probably know, the Kirtland Temple is owned by the Community of Christ. The spirit felt on our tour was definitely not the same spirit felt at the LDS' Kirtland visitor center and tour.

I loved the green doors on the Kirtland Temple.

We got to see the N.K. Whitney store which was my personal favorite! It was also neat to learn about the school of the prophets that took place in the upstairs of the Whitney's home where The Father and the Son appeared to Joseph Smith. I had no idea that God and Jesus Christ appeared four times in Kirtland! The spirit was so strong on these church sites, it was so neat to walk where the early saints walked!

My kids couldn't have been better on our trip, they deserved a good swim at the hotel.

My sleepy girl on the drive to the John Johnson farm.

The Johnson home was amazing! They were the second wealthiest family in the area back in the day. This is also where Joseph Smith was dragged out of his bedroom and tarred and feathered.

We saw quite a few of these buckets on maple trees. Ohio is roughly the fifth largest producer of maple in the country

And how about them AMISH? What a sight!!! What interesting people!!! What an interesting way to live!!! Need I say more???

How fabulous that you got to experience all those significant church sites. I hope dad and I get to do that someday. We've been to most all of the other church sites but Kirkland. Me and Dad were fascinated with the Amish when we were in Pennsylvania. I'm glad the kids were good for you. Lea isn't having the same luck when they drive a long distance as you're probably aware of. How long was the drive? I'll try to call you tomorrow if I don't go skiing. Depends on the weather. Mom
What an amazing opportunity to go to all of those church sites and it looks like y'all are just having a blast with your fun company.

That is a vacation I want to take someday! It would be so cool to see all the early history of the church. And the Amish... I'm obsessed. I love them. They facinate me and I read so many books about them. I want to go and see them in action one day!

We really hope to go there, but I didn't realize ALL the stuff there is. You got me really excited now. Beautiful family, awesome pictures!!
My friend and her mom were at the Kirtland temple the same time as you were. She called me and said there were people there from Bear Lake whose son was going to Law school in Ann Arbor. She said she didn't talk to you to ask names but she did catch where everyone was from.
We live just an hour south of Kirtland. Isn't it a great place?
